What We Believe
We believe that Jesus Christ is the one and only Son of God who died for our sins and rose from the dead.
We believe that the Bible is the inspired Word of God...a lamp to our feet and a light unto our path. Where the Bible speaks, we speak; where the Bible is silent, we are silent.
We believe that every person has worth as a creation of God, but that all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.
We believe that forgiveness of sins and the promise of eternal life are found in our calling upon Jesus as Savior, repenting of our sin, and joining Christ in His death and resurrection through baptism.
We believe that the church is the body of Christ on earth, empowered by the Holy Spirit, and exists to evangelize the lost and edify the saved.
We believe that Jesus Christ will one day return to earth and reign forever as King of Kings and Lord of Lords.
We believe that salvation is a free gift from God and it is based on God's love and grace as shown in the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.
We believe that man must respond by:
Putting faith and trust in Christ and openly confessing that faith
Repenting, which is a decision to turn away from sin and to obey God
Being baptized (fully immersed) to receive forgiveness of sins and the gift of the Holy Spirit
Beginning a new life and becoming identified with Christ and His body, the church
Continuing a life of faith and loyalty to the Lord
We believe that eternal punishment (hell) awaits those who reject Christ, and eternal life (heaven) awaits those who accept Christ and are faithful to Him.
How We Worship
We seek to pattern our church after the teachings and example of the church in the New Testament.
We are an independent congregation, in that we are self-governing and under no denominational headquarters; however we do seek to be interdependent with other churches and Christians through fellowship and cooperation.
We observe the Lord's Supper each Sunday and welcome all believers to share in this observance with us.
Christ-centered and Bible-based classes and activities for all ages.
Opportunities for using your abilities in serving the Lord and other people.
A well-staffed nursery for those who desire to use it.
We are glad to welcome into the membership of our congregation all who have accepted Christ through faith, repentance and immersion. We require no more, and no less than Christ required of all who accept Him.
Our missionary outreach includes traveling work groups and mission offerings for use in Cerro Gordo County, The State of Iowa, The USA, and throughout the world; through tithes and offerings given by faithful followers of Christ.
